This beta adds the ability to manage your contacts from the unified contact list, which should further reduce the need to ever use the individual contact lists in iChat. Add contacts and groups through the plus button; remove contacts by selecting them and hitting delete. Also added is the ability to flip images when using the send camera snapshot feature. This flips snapshots so that objects appear naturally and text is readable.

Changes from Chax 2.2:

  • Added the ability to manage groups and contacts to the unified contact list.
  • Added an option to flip images when taking a camera snapshot (Buddies -> Send Camera Snapshot...)

When I go to add it pulls up my individual contact list, is it supposed to do this? Also, I have not been able to successfully delete a buddy when hitting the delete key... nothing seems to happen.

The unified contact list shows up empty sometimes. Not sure what causes the error, though.

My AIM hasn't been connecting since roughly the time I installed this -- wonder if it's related?

The new contact management from the unified Contact List sounds nice. Maybe I'll grab it. Hey, since I didn't see any support forums, I'll ask here: do you know if it's technically feasible for Chax to add Invisible support to non-AIM protocols? Having played around a bit with Adium, I still prefer iChat (mostly because I can save transcripts to my sync'ed iDisk so there spotlight searchable on any Mac I use). But it bugs me that I can be invisible on AIM but not Google Talk, even though pretty much any other Jabber client supports invisibility on the latter. Have you looked into this? Any plans to implement it, or should we just wait for Apple to get round to it? Thanks!

Hola, I've been having issues with the iChat agent quitting when I attempt to log in to aim using the invisible setting. Removing Chax appears to fix the problem. Not finding a whole lot of recent info in Google so I figure here is a good a place as any. Thanks for a great extension.

Great message... But one time when I log in to my AIM… I got a message that he says he knows everything who’s in my conversation he knows everything I type I wondered why he now… Someone tells me that he hack me… Is that true?
