Thanks for update. Great work! One question about cyrillic encoding — is it fixed?

Big thanks for StripOutgoingBackgroundColor, the text backgrounds were annoying the hell out of my jabber contacts. Is there any official list of hidden settings and how to set them? It took me quite a while to figure out what StripOutgoingBackgroundColor how to set it and was actually doing...

small request :) - ability to know which buddy name of yours your friend is IM'ing to. For instance, I have multiple iChat names, and my friend is listed on two of my buddy names. When he IM's, I can't tell if he IM'ed through my 1st or 2nd screen name ... :)

closing bonjour tabs still causes a crash :(

actually, since upgrading, iChat has been crashing very frequently, about every other opening of iChat :(

Is it just me or is the unified contact list still not saving it's size and position? Because it always appears in the upper right corner when I start iChat. Is there a way to set the size and position manually, so I don't have to do it each time I start my computer?

Chax unified buddy lists no longer work on my machine. That was the whole point of installing it, right?

2 problems: I can't get any contacts to show up in the dock menu. Is there a preference I'm missing that I'm supposed to select? The lists are there but not the contacts themselves. With 2.1.2 beta, Chax would sometime disappear from iChat after I've woken my computer from sleep. So, for example, I'll have iChat open and Chax preferences and menu items will be available and the unified contact list will be present. I put my computer to sleep. When I wake it, Chax preferences and menu items have disappeared, as has the unified contact list.

Where is auto-reconnect in Leopard? We had it in Tiger, and it worked great. I get disconnected from my iChat Jabber server and boy, oh boy would it be cool to have an auto-reconnect!!!

Hello, Thanks for all of your work. Would it be possible in future versions to be able to drag contacts into groups in the “all contacts” list? Currently this only seems to work in the individualized “AIM Contacts” or “Jabber Contacts.” Thanks

Randall at 2008-05-31 11:49:35 -0400

this is one of my favorite programs, thanks for the hard work. I still have problems with it connecting to jabber and the other odd thing is this: My computer will sleep once and wake properly from sleep just once, any succeeding sleep cycle is prevented afterward. If I close ichat it will again sleep as scheduled. Is it running something that makes the system stay awake that disrupts the cycle or breaks the settings?

feature request: I want to use the ichat menubar icon only, can u develop a way so that the menubar shows the contacts list instead of switching between aim, jabber, bonjour. Also can u develop a way that i can keep the contacts, aim, jabber, bonjour list window permanently hidden so that u can use the menubar icon only, as well as a notification icon of a new message in the menubar.

Hey, Just tried it and it's great. Thanks! However, one suggestion: merge multiple contact’s accounts into one, just elike Adium. Some friends of mine have an AIM and Jabber account, for example, and it would be cool to group that into only one person in the contact list.

Hi there! Thanks v much for Chax - it's great! I am on leopard 10.5.3 and am having problems with the "All contacts" list. Buddies from my Jabber (Google Talk) list are often failing to appear there. Is this a bug? @Arnaud: For me chax is already doing precisely what you are asking! The trick is to associate AIM, JABBER, .Mac accounts with a single entry in your Mac Address Book.

I love chax and warp tons, thanks for making such great software. But one problem, since I've updated to 10.5.3 I've had iChat quit unexpectedly after about a day of being up consistently since I upgraded. I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this behavior or if there just might be something else wrong. Has anyone else noticed iChat quitting unexpectedly when you have chax installed since the patch?

CartoonChess at 2008-06-07 17:19:40 -0400

Second on Arnaud's issue. I am running Chax 2.1.2 on iChat 4.0.3 with OS 10.5.3. iChat is using the All Contacts window as the primary contact list, which combines an AIM account and a Jabber account (running a local OpenFire 3.5.1 server for the MSN gateway). I have one contact on AIM so we can video conference, as she is using Windows. Both are listed under the same contact in Address Book. Is this a bug? Outside of this problem, Chax is amazing. Thanks!

Thanks for the great app. Is there any reason why auto-reconnect was removed in version 2.12? Will it be added in the next version? I want to create a reliable remote screen-share for my office and home network mac but without auto-reconnect ichat is too unreliable.
