I made a pretty glaring oversight in 1.4.1 which led to a number of people experiencing problems with tabs not being highlighted properly. This release should fix those problems. I've also added a toolbar to the activity window which adds an option to clear the log and search through past activity. Options to have all activity saved to disk will be coming in a future version.

Changes from 1.4.1:

  • (Feature improvement) Activity window now has a toolbar with options to clear the log and search through activity
  • (Bugfix) Fixed problems with tabs not coming to the front properly when auto-accept text invitations option was disabled
  • (Bugfix) Fixed problems with group chats not appearing properly
  • (Bugfix) Inviting more people to a group chat now displays the invitation sheet properly

I think a cool feature would be to be able to set iChat to mobile like you can with AIM. Is that something that can bedone through Chax?

Hmm, German special characters and umlauts are b0rked in 1.4.2b1 - they are either shown scrambled (§ instead of ß) or not at all. Also, sometimes when someone in my contact list goes online or offline, the Growl message reads "chax_online" or "chax_offline" instead of "$NAME came online/went offline".

In both this version and the May 2nd update, iChat is not properly creating chat windows. When I try to join a chat, the window does not pop up even though it is listed in the Window menu. CLicking on it in that menu does nothing either. The same thing occurs if someone IMs me when I first sign in. This was all working fine before I updated to 1.4.1 a few days ago.

Not sure if you mind 'feature requests' going here, but I really love the other iChat helper prefpane 'iChartwork' which puts a small icon of your iTunes artwork in the ichat buddy icon. It'd be cool to have a icon/status section of Chax that we could have this feature, modify the status message to show current track info in different ways than the single built-in text (maybe i want artist - title instead of title - artist... or i want a music icon in there with it... or 'now playing...' at the beginning. Also why not expand that to include options for current website in safari, or a link to an applescript? Anyway.. .lots of creative stuff could be done in this area. Oh... and bots. that would be cool too ;-)

I am still seeing the group chat windows not appearing properly with this build. I don't see anything in the console that might help, let me know if want me to try anything.
